Jerry’s room is across from this hospital while he recovers from his back surgery. Last night the setting sun reflected on the building and even though the windows are terribly dirty I thought this picture turned out okay! This is the new Parkland, opened in 2015. It is 1,700,000 square feet, 17 stories, 862 beds and has parking for 6,000 cars. It is the county hospital and part of the teaching entity, University of Texas Southwest, that Jerry’s hospital is part of.
I love the colors in this one and the way you have shown the unusual architecture. I have never seen a cantilevered hospital before.
It must be dreadfully boring for you at times to sit and not have your daily routine available to you. I know it’s a sacrifice on your part but I am also certain that it means more to Jerry than he may even tell you. God bless you as you work through this together.
A wonderful capture with sunset colours reflected in the building ! Hoping that Jerry is recovering well after his treatment . So good that you can spend all your time with Jerry - I know you would not want it any other way ! Keep strong !xx
Quite a futuristic design….you will be glad to see the back of it!!
Hope Jerry is recovering well & will soon be allowed home into your tender loving care. Good wishes to you both!
I read with great interest this information! We all know the history of Parkland Hospital, and this also where our daughter, Heather, was born. It didn't look like this then! What a beautiful complex! You certainly have a nice view! I hope Jerry is recovering extremely well; you've got good medical care in Dallas! Please give him our best wishes for a good recovery!
What a cool building and lovely sunset! And even with you pointing out how dirty the window are, I do not notice. I'm keeping you and Jerry in my thoughts.

I can only echo what Katy said, will keep you in my prayers.
Hope Jerry is recovering well & will soon be allowed home into your tender loving care. Good wishes to you both!
