The girl in the prom photo with the white dress and tiara in her hair passed away not long ago. She married a classmate 15 years ago, we met him for lunch last week and he gave me her sweet velvet jewelry box with sequin decorations. He has been so lost without her, I’ve been his shoulder to cry on, so to speak. He’s going to move across country close to his children fairly soon, I’m just not sure he will be happy there. We’ve talked about friends he has there and things he can do when he gets there. It’s hard to be our age and be alone. I keep shoring him up as best I can.

Oh that is sad. Try & remember her as in that lovely photo…..all young & beautiful. A lovely memento, how kind. He mustn’t do anything in a hurry. It takes time to come to terms & sometimes friends are more important than immediate family who have busy lives & not always time.
