The Sahara sandstorm

The annual Sahara dust storms here do make our sunrises and sunsets pretty. The national weather service estimates 180 million tons of dust are pushed across the atmosphere every year. Dallas is 7,000 miles away, we get our fair share every summer, during our hurricane season.
Wonderful tones and silhouettes. We used to get it in Germany too, it can be very unpleasant.

It gave you some beautiful color for this photo, and I love the silhouettes against that color.

A lovely capture. Rosie gets this quite often. She's always complaining about the mess on her balconies and car. We get this in the UK occasionally

Nice shot with the trees silhouetted. A couple of years ago we had some Sahara dust here.

It just goes to show how much the air travels around the earth- pretty amazing. I don't think we get much of it in northeastern PA though. Very pretty!
