one of our most dangerous animals, fortunately behind double fencing. This is the first month that I saw them in this field. Opposite them there was another field with females and calves. I suppose it is a breeding station and they will be sold off to game reserves.
What a great capture of these guys. Jerry has been watching documentaries on wild animals. He says these Buffalo are really mean, they use their horns to keep predators at bay.
This may seem like a stupid question but what makes them so dangerous? Or at least what makes them more dangerous than lions or some of the other animals? It’s a beautiful photograph of them even through the fencing.
I must have missed this earlier on !-- What wonderful beast and beautiful horns . shame that they are dangerous when they appear so calm behind the fencing !
@grammyn It is said to have killed more big gsme hunters thn any other animal in Africa. An angry buffalo will circle and stalk its prey, waiting for the perfect moment to tear apart its opponent with its massive thick horns. That's what came up when I googled them Katy :-)
Hi. Over the years buffalo in the north of Australia have killed more people than crocodiles, snakes, spiders, sharks etc. they are just mean and angry.
