this shot certainly shows the drama. I have found that 2 subjects in shot really throws off the autofocus. It focuses somewhere in the middle and ruins everything else!
Great shot. The rhino has a disadvantage I see because his horn has been shortened so that he cannot go on the attack. It must have been very exciting to watch them.
Great shot. Because I started with manual focus film camera and is used to focus and recompose I adopted the same technique when I started using auto focus cameras. I still only use the center focus point on all my cameras no matter how many auto focus points they have :-)
@rensala the ranger told us that a few of them always test their strength but more in a playful manner :-)
@helstor365 Thanks for that valuable info Helge. I use single point focus, but usually focus on the eye or head. Shots like these confuse me and I never know where to focus ;-)
@helstor365 Helge I please need your expert advice! Which lens and settings should I use on a group of ducks! There are about 60 moving together in one direction! I tried with my 300mm on SS at various settings. Almost all the ducks are out of focus! I need to go back and try again. What would you suggest? I would be ever so grateful 🤷🏼♀️
