A very unusual sight

this time of the year. For some reason this Coral tree thinks it is Spring. It even has some leaves which normally appear even later.
I have the 'Flame' tree in my garden and it looks just the same ... not sure if its the same tree or a close cousin... and it seems to flower at all sorts of times of year... nice shot ..

Gorgeous colour contrast :)

The drought may have something to do with this tree being confused!

How unusual for coral trees to be flowering at this time of the year. They flower in September here.

That's interesting because ours usually flower in Winter. They are all coming into bloom now :) @julzmaioro In Western Australia we call them flame trees too.

That is a beautiful bloom. I guess the tree is not ready for winter yet.

@julzmaioro @merrelyn Coral tree is often confused with the Illawarra Flame tree which is a native of the NSW coast north from Nowra, not because of it's similarity in appearance, but because Coral tree is often grown in the Illawarra and both have bright red flowers. ( says dr. google) ;-)
