It is November here in Dunedin, NZ and yesterday the temps were 21degC. Today it is 10degC! Too cold for a walk down the beautiful but destructive beach! The waves crash into the seafront and have destroyed the steps going down on to the beach.
Three good things:
1. We had a lovely mussel and clam pizza in an Italian cafe looking over this scene,
2 I stopped myself turning into aa mock Italian fool by trying to reply in Italian to the dapper head waiter!
3. I'm hunkering after a Mac Airbook now instead of the iPad!
it is november here in toronto also, and our high today was a balmy -9 degrees celcius with strong winds and semi-icy pavement due to the snow yesterday. your weather has a good chance of warming up, ours will just be getting colder. can't wait till january when i go visit manila and the islands. nice view for a pizza lunch!
What a beautiful shot, Maggiemae. Did you get the mac air book? I have the iPad mini and love it but it does not hold all of my photos. Still it is a lot of fun. Have fun with whatever you get.
I know exactly this restaurant at St Clair's Beach! I went there about 3 years ago in May and stayed right near there while in a reccie to get Luke into Otago. I loved this beach! First time I saw paddle boarders. The water was freezing and they had every part of themselves covered. Enjoy!
Ma Air is expensive...I think Judith has one & it took her a while to get used to it.
A big difference in temp from one day to the other maggimae.....never been as far down as that ...next stop South Pole!!!
hunkering or hankering maggie :) ...i like the starkness of the scene ....I don't know what's to the right of the frame but i might have tried to use the lamp post as a stopper on the left hand side of the frame..what do you think ?
It's winter here too- and certainly not beach weather at 40 degrees and windy! But how nice to be sitting in a comfy restaurant and looking out over the ocean.
I like deserted seafronts and I like your capture of this one. Our temperature here in Toronto just now is 0.3 C. and it's snowing, so your 10 C. sounds pretty good to me!
great beach view! so Italian restaurants/cafes are popular in NZ too? The Roman empire must be still spreading! Funny how popular those concrete balls are near beaches! We have quite a few here too! We've had quite big variations in temperature and weather lately. It was very cold (almost wintery) today, although sunny, tomorrow we could go up to 29 degrees! Hard to keep up with!
