Wending our way cross country over the lower portion of NZ, it was all farms and estuaries! Very few houses but good roads even if gravel. I like this scene for the green Southland hills!
Three good things:
1. Got out of yesterday's cave safely and on to a wide sweep of golden sand. Still cool.
2. I bought some delicious pies from the cafe in the wilderness and paid a hefty $10 for each!!
3. Here in Invercargill for 5 days to attend the Burt Munro Challenge, a series of competitive bike races to remember John's father's exploits including a beach race! Unpacked!
This looks even better large. Love the simple composition of sand, water and green distance, and the little brown smudge of reed in the water. Enjoy your time in Invercargill!
The family name lives on maggiemae....great that they continue to celebrate your FIL's name so much....you will both be very proud standing there & no doubt presenting the trophy's! Good to see the countryside down there , I have never been.
