This day is the birthday of my father - 130 years ago! He died in 1970 but his memory never fades. On the left is a photo of him at his desk late in his life. The middle one was taken in England during the First World War. He was based in Brockenhurst most of the time as a Padre, a hospital that looked after wounded soldiers. On the right is an early picture of our family at my youngest sister's christening. I'm the one peeking out in front of my father.
Three good things;
1. I was able to get all the spots out of the old photo in the middle and it looked much better.
2. Bought a heap of food so we could get a 35c/litre reduction on fuel costs.
3. Spent 1/2 hour in the rain waiting for vintage cars to go past but they didn't so I came inside and gave up that idea!
Maggie, this is a fantastic pictorial story of your father, who was a very distinguished looking gent............and I just adore that picture of you peeping out near your father.
What a nice set of photos and memories, Maggie. Your dad deserves to be recognized and remembered. Kudos to him for serving in the war. And to see you as a little girl is also a treat! Sorry about the vintage cars not coming.
What a great family collage and tribute to your dad! My Mom would have been 101 yesterday. Hard to believe. Thanks for sharing this part of you! You were quite adorable, and still are of course!!
What a beautiful collage of a very handsome man, your father. Love the family photo with you peaking out as well. How did you get the spots out of the middle photo? FAV
Lovely collection of old photos for the memory. Good that you could work on them too. We have stayed near brokenhurst, if it's the one in the new forest. Had a caravan and had a few good hols there many years ago.
The far left, the suit is brilliant such quality, definitely gentlemen esq.
