The humble wheelbarrow by maggiemae

The humble wheelbarrow

This must be one of the most used vehicles in a garden! Nothing else will suffice! Taken in a friend's garden where there is actually a need for two!

Three good things:
1. This ex-neighbour had to have an electrical shock applied to his heart to try to keep it regular. He felt fine and everyone was happy!
2. Our deaf Canadian guest departed in a bus after taking a good photo of us with his Nikon D700 on a tripod that was so heavy, I could hardly lift it!
3. Great skyping with a sister - better than an email, letter, or phone call!
Love the lighting and scene through the frame. Great shot.

Lovely colour. Looks very muddy.

Beautiful lighting
February 25th, 2015
@markp Not mud, Mark but gravel round here - its been very dry in this area!
February 25th, 2015
Lovely image looking out into the light. Must admit to being a two wheelbarrow person myself.
February 25th, 2015
Looks like it's had a good life!
February 25th, 2015
Been using one today on the allotment, I love the look of the garden in the back
February 25th, 2015
Oh ! Only on my iPhone and ground looks like big puddles and mud. Will have to look on the big screen.
February 25th, 2015
You have a knack for taking the most mundane objects and making them beautiful! Gorgeous light and color through that arbor!
February 25th, 2015
Awesome. Like the depth in the shot, and nicely done.
February 25th, 2015
Love the way it all lights up into colour through the arch
February 25th, 2015
Lovely framing and light
February 25th, 2015
A lovely shot - Love how the eye is drawn through the tunnel to the sun lit garden area -yet halted on the way by the yellow by the as you call it the humble wheel barrow ! fav
February 25th, 2015
looks nice and green and sunny maggie, for a minute i thought why is it sunny and green and then remembered you are in NZ and we are still in a grey damp winter !!!
February 25th, 2015
Lovely garden and what would we do without wheelbarrows?
February 25th, 2015
Looks a beautiful Garden...fav

Bep
Love the lighting. Fav.
February 25th, 2015
Love that look through into the sunny beyond.......out of the dark into the light. You are right about a wheelbarrow, I never thought of that! Your friend looks like she has a really beautiful garden.....shady & sunny. Hope we can see that photo sometime!

Lovely window

@happypat Halfway between home and Wellington at the moment, Pat. Our flight to Wellington was cancelled and we now have to fly to Paraparamu and bus to Wgtn. Be ages before we can log in again! This garden is huge and so beautiful - however beauty is not everything - they have separated and have now sold this property!

@judithg Dragging a sack around is not quite the same, Judith?
February 26th, 2015
@beryl Through that archway is a wonderful display of rhododendrons, Beryl!
February 26th, 2015
@ubobohobo Not two wheelbarrows at the same time, though, Margaret? Impossible to push a wheelbarrow with one hand!
February 26th, 2015
I really like the view beyond, where the sun is shining. Beautiful composition and capture.
February 26th, 2015
Gorgeous shot. Beautiful colors.
February 26th, 2015
I like the way you have framed the sunny garden. Our wheelbarrows invariably end up being used as seats after the work is done.
February 26th, 2015
Such lovely green. Nice!
February 26th, 2015
@pitasmum Also good for moving people with sore backs around, Keri!
February 26th, 2015
@maggiemae I hope you aren't speaking from experience!
February 26th, 2015
@pitasmum Not personally but a friend of mine who broke her ankle was transported around by wheelbarrow!
February 26th, 2015
Love how my eye is led to the bright sunlight, then moves to the darker foreground
February 26th, 2015
What a beautiful garden but a lot of work. Love your photo of all the beautiful colors and the way you framed it. I am glad your neighbor is ok after this problem with his heart. You always make me laugh, DSLR's can be so heavy. Love mine, well mirror less camera with its nice light weight body and lenses. I still miss a long zoom though and the transition from one setting to another without having to change the lens. I finally have someone to Skype with as soon as we both learn how, my cousin in Washington state. My son set up Skype on my computer, well his laptop till he gets my desktop working for photos. My cousin will take his laptop to my Aunts house once we understand it and we can all chat together. It is a fun thing to do.

Wonderful sunshine through the arch.
Have are the family? Do they know about their daughter yet or are they still too critical? Take care
February 26th, 2015
Looks so beautiful looking at the way the light was framed.
February 26th, 2015
@darsphotos great to hear that you can do what we appreciate, Darlene! In a hellava mixup at the moment.... will catch up!
February 26th, 2015
What an interesting and inviting composition! I love looking through the frame to the garden in back.
February 26th, 2015
Fav. Wonderful shot and composition. Love how the eyes leave the shaded forefront to go into the lighted background.
February 26th, 2015
Such lovely colors
February 26th, 2015
A beautiful composition, with a great mix of light and dark.
February 26th, 2015
It's like looking into a an enchanted garden!
February 26th, 2015
Great garden
Like you three good things positive spin
February 26th, 2015
What a gorgeous gorgeous frame!!!
February 27th, 2015
It must be a very beautiful garden.
February 27th, 2015
Just love the comp, light and framing here, and I like the desire it evokes in me to explore the bright area beyond the archway. Fav.
February 27th, 2015
Looks like a beautiful garden- the kind my friend Debbie would have. Now do I see two little ceramic heads there on the right, or am I stuck in fairy tale mode with the toys this week and seeing things?
February 27th, 2015
@olivetreeann No, Ann, not in fairyland here - there are 2 ceramic heads. The owner is a bit of an artist and puts odd things in odd places round the garden!
February 27th, 2015
I really like the bright and colourful view through the dark "tunnel" created by the shade of the tree.
February 27th, 2015
Lovely view on the other side of that garden!. Nicely framed Maggie.
February 28th, 2015
Nice framing and light - a definite invitation to view through the archway.
February 28th, 2015
your perspectives are always to die for. this is a brilliantly set up shot!

Beautiful shot, Maggie. I like how the view in the distance is bright and lit up while the rest of the photo looks like it's in the shade. It actually makes great framing for the brightly lit portion. Really well composed.

I love the lead to the brightly lead garden beyond....beautiful shot, and it tells a story. Was it the D700 that was heavy or the tripod? I have a mostly hate relationship with my tripod, which is uncomfortably heavy, and on the market for a lighter weight one, preferably carbon fiber.....so many options out there my head is spinning!
