Not a tree hugger.. by maggiemae

Not a tree hugger..

What chords…….
can a trailing plant play on the guitar? Gm, perhaps? Standing for Green Medley!
This plant is high up on a bookshelf and I just noticed that one of its long trailing stems has wound itself round my guitar and across the strings! Perhaps the guitar asked for a hug! I haven’t picked it up for a while!

Three good things;
1. My first drive in Sadie (Mercedes) went fine - it turned its lights on automatically and dimmed them with oncoming cars. So nervous that other people would bang into it.
2. The Winter Crop Competition is hotting up for Fridays prize giving event. Run by two Lion’s Groups and they seem to have got it together - amazingly - all men, of course! The judges have found a winning field.
3. A lost police dog in one of our wildest areas has been found.
Fmaj7 and Cadd9 are my favourite chords. If it could play that I'd be impressed! :)

@stevecameras Don't know Cadd9?? Must find out that one!

Definitely time to play again!

Love Euro cars. :-)

Neat shot, light

The Moody Blues had an album featuring a song of the same name, "In Search of The Lost Chord". Maybe this plant knows what it is! Fav

wish I could play!
Auto dipping lights......that sounds great.........
and no 3.......that's fab!

@skipt07 I was trying to find the music to this very song a few days ago but I didn't find it. I know there is a really love piano piece called 'The Lost Chord'!

@pixiemac He was lost for 7 days, Sarah- amazing!
May 11th, 2015
@maggiemae Wow, that's a long time to be lost and survive, thank heavens good things happen to counteract the bad!
May 11th, 2015
isn't that something? the plant just reached out to grow on the guitar. i hope the plant doesn't damage it.

Awesome shot

@summerfield No, I'm going to have to pull it off Vikki - the leaves might leave oil or sticky marks! So goodbye plant music!
May 11th, 2015
Very sweet. Maybe it's time to dust it off and play. Bet it needed a hug from being left alone for awhile;-).
May 11th, 2015
Plant and guitar look so compatible, shame you have to pull it of but I suppose a plant is easier to replace than a car
May 11th, 2015
I meant guitar not car!,!!
May 11th, 2015
Fascinating subject! Well shot with nice shadows and a terrific composition!
May 11th, 2015
Great capture, Maggie!
May 12th, 2015
Beautifully staged and captured.
May 12th, 2015
Lovely! Plants always seem to find something to wind around.
May 12th, 2015
Neat comp and capture
May 12th, 2015
It must have been lonely
May 12th, 2015
Me thinks you should play more often
May 12th, 2015
Love the comp and pov in this, well noticed. I'm so glad the lost dog has been found, and hope he or she is ok.
May 12th, 2015
Great capture of the plant giving the guitar a hug! Perhaps the plant sensed the guitar is feeling neglected.
May 12th, 2015
A lovely shot, love this.

The triffids are taking over! Nice one! Thank you for your continued commenting while I've been so erratic!
May 12th, 2015
I love this. What a great shot, Maggiemae. Love your guitar. You need to pick it up and play it. FAV

Guitar was obviously in need of some love and attention Maggie. i don't think the new driverless cars will ever be for me I'm too much of a control freak!! I do like the sound of your new car though. Like the idea of self dimming headlight!! So glad the lost dog was found.

Photo shows it has been too long since you played the guitar. Was good the see thames make it home
May 12th, 2015
@maggiemae Same as the G chord but you move all the fingers toward the middle by one string.
May 12th, 2015
Not sure about machines that do too much thinking for me... love the plant's attentions to your guitar. Mine is shut up in a box in the closet; hope I don't get cited for guitar-abuse.
May 12th, 2015
love this shot and your musings. so happy about #3. read an interesting post a while back about someone thinking birds sitting on telephone wires looked like music notes so he computer generated photos to see what it would sound like; it was so beautiful and started an entire discussion as to whether or not they sit in patterns deliberately.

Wow, what a pic and how neat to wrap itself around the Guitar, Audition for your little group perhaps!!
May 12th, 2015
It's giving the guitar a cuddle! Love it!
May 12th, 2015
@stevecameras I saw it on one site, Steve - haven't got it right yet. Your instructions sound easier
May 12th, 2015
Plants do the most interesting things.
Glad you're enjoying your new car
May 12th, 2015
@francoise Get it out Francoise or I'll tell the guitar man and he'll come and bop you over the head with his guitar!
May 12th, 2015
Your shot has certainly started a thread here, almost as good as reading a book! Yes think the guitar needs to be rescued.
May 12th, 2015
I played guitar many years ago- folk tunes mostly- and then I married Jeff, had two boys and haven't played since. But my guitar does not sit idle- Jeff has used it on occasion. He's much better than I! I like your musical plant!
May 13th, 2015
very creative shot
May 13th, 2015
:..or maybe, just maybe the plant plays the guitar when you aren't around. "O). Nice pic of the two in play.
