Life is busy like a lot of my 365 friends! Wouldn’t have it any other way I’m either editing the manuscript - got to page 100 out of 255, or sewing up my huge jersey that is going to submerge hubby in wool, or holding my breath! This is because an apartment that we have been losing money on over the years is finally up for auction!
Three good things:
1. Apartment didn’t sell but we learnt we could ask a lot more in rent.
2. The lavender didn’t like the cold so bent over in nice angles for a photograph.
3 .I read that yawning is just a silent scream for coffee!
Laughing at your TGT.....amazed you have lavender out in mid winter!
Our next door tenants have just given us notice after four years, we are sorry as they have been great neighbours. Bought a house in the village so we have all the hassle of getting new ones. Nervous getting new neighbours too! We want to see John in his winter Jersey!
@happypat Our tenant of this Auckland apartment up and left too after about 10 years! I understand your dilemma - what about renting it as a holiday house? Photo of John will be posted if you can still see any of him poking out of this enormous jersey!
You got me fooled Maggiemae --I thought this was a type of lavender I had never seen before -- poor thing --it looks quite attractive in spite of suffering from the cold !!
Lovely shot, poor old lavender - I'm sure it will pick up - it's a hardy plant. Is that why I get to a certain time in the evening and can't stop yawning!
@skstein It is my Mother's diary that I have transcribed when she made a trip to Britain in 1929. She bought a 1928 Morris Oxford for Pds 65 and drove right round the country!
if i was living in NZ i'd rent your apartment then all you have to do is cash the rent cheque every month. when we moved in this building 7 years ago it was almost a dive. i have the lowest floor unit which is half-submerged in the ground. it was an opportunity to create a garden just outside the living room and kitchen windows. we cleaned around the building and now we have a nice lawn and the owner can charge more rent for the upper units because our building looks like first class now. but he keeps on renting to the wrong tenants and we'd always have problems. two years ago, i had to witness for him against a tenant who repeatedly made noise at 3 a.m. every night and managed to kick him out. the problem i often see with my neighbours is that they don't care about the property because it's not theirs anyway. i care about where i live and my landlords, past and present, have always been happy not just with the up to date payment but also with the way i keep house. sorry i babbled again.
@summerfield I wish we had you in our apartment! However we do have a property manager and she keeps things well run. Its a huge complex with 300 apartments so I would imagine there would be some undesirable tenants!
Pretty lavender! Hope all works out with the apartment. It's not easy finding good people. So much screening to do and that's no guarantee either. Wish I had a reason to rent it for a year- how fun to have family visit me in NZ!
