Lavender bells by maggiemae

Lavender bells

Life is busy like a lot of my 365 friends! Wouldn’t have it any other way I’m either editing the manuscript - got to page 100 out of 255, or sewing up my huge jersey that is going to submerge hubby in wool, or holding my breath! This is because an apartment that we have been losing money on over the years is finally up for auction!

Three good things:
1. Apartment didn’t sell but we learnt we could ask a lot more in rent.
2. The lavender didn’t like the cold so bent over in nice angles for a photograph.
3 .I read that yawning is just a silent scream for coffee!
Mmm, coffee...want that now.

Laughing at your TGT.....amazed you have lavender out in mid winter!
Our next door tenants have just given us notice after four years, we are sorry as they have been great neighbours. Bought a house in the village so we have all the hassle of getting new ones. Nervous getting new neighbours too! We want to see John in his winter Jersey!

Great shot.

@happypat Our tenant of this Auckland apartment up and left too after about 10 years! I understand your dilemma - what about renting it as a holiday house? Photo of John will be posted if you can still see any of him poking out of this enormous jersey!

You got me fooled Maggiemae --I thought this was a type of lavender I had never seen before -- poor thing --it looks quite attractive in spite of suffering from the cold !!

Really love reading your three good things.....good luck with the apartment (and the jersey!)

@beryl I'll have to see if it straightens itself out, Beryl!

I so love your 3rd good thing!!! I am going to tell my boss that one as we are always yawning!!! Love your dof on this lavender, very pretty

The lavender just knew you wanted this photo! gorgeous! :)

How cooperative of your lavender plant, to droop so gracefully for you! Glad you are making progress on the apartment, editing and the jersey, too.

Cold and rain can do that. it still made a nice picture. hope it will come around again.

Lovely shot, poor old lavender - I'm sure it will pick up - it's a hardy plant. Is that why I get to a certain time in the evening and can't stop yawning!

Awesome shot

Lovely flower! Like the hint of yellow in the picture. :)
June 24th, 2015
Such a pretty plant, even bent over from the cold. :)
June 24th, 2015
Pretty! It's so blue. My variety is much more purple.
June 25th, 2015
Love the colour and texture here. Will the lavender recover and stand up again?
June 25th, 2015
@tristansmum I don't think so, Stephanie - they look even more bent today!
June 25th, 2015
Lovely shot, color

Terrific capture, love the colour.

Great pov for the lavender. Love the color and focus.

Beautiful flower and shot Maggie.

This is so beautiful. FAV What kind of a manuscript are you editing? Are you writing a book?
June 25th, 2015
@skstein It is my Mother's diary that I have transcribed when she made a trip to Britain in 1929. She bought a 1928 Morris Oxford for Pds 65 and drove right round the country!
June 25th, 2015
How very unusual and beautiful! Love the shade of deep blue.
June 25th, 2015
Really lovely, such a beautiful shade.
June 25th, 2015
Lovely shot.
June 25th, 2015

June 25th, 2015
@steeler particularly if we have arthritis, Howard!
June 25th, 2015
The angle of the dangle works for the photo
June 25th, 2015
@phil_howcroft Have to admit ... the dangles angles tangles with my imagination!
June 25th, 2015
Great shot
June 25th, 2015

I didn't recognize it as lavender, lovely colour but it does look sad. Almost half way through your editing, that's good going

if i was living in NZ i'd rent your apartment then all you have to do is cash the rent cheque every month. when we moved in this building 7 years ago it was almost a dive. i have the lowest floor unit which is half-submerged in the ground. it was an opportunity to create a garden just outside the living room and kitchen windows. we cleaned around the building and now we have a nice lawn and the owner can charge more rent for the upper units because our building looks like first class now. but he keeps on renting to the wrong tenants and we'd always have problems. two years ago, i had to witness for him against a tenant who repeatedly made noise at 3 a.m. every night and managed to kick him out. the problem i often see with my neighbours is that they don't care about the property because it's not theirs anyway. i care about where i live and my landlords, past and present, have always been happy not just with the up to date payment but also with the way i keep house. sorry i babbled again.

@leananiemand Not sure what you meant, Leana. I had to google names and places to see if they were spelled correctly in this journal.
June 25th, 2015
@summerfield I wish we had you in our apartment! However we do have a property manager and she keeps things well run. Its a huge complex with 300 apartments so I would imagine there would be some undesirable tenants!
June 25th, 2015
How lovely your lavender looks bowing in the cold. I must need coffee!! LOL!!
June 25th, 2015
Such a beautiful color you have even in winter time! This is a gorgeous photo! I had to laugh about your #3!
June 26th, 2015
@maggiemae Wow, she sounds like a real pioneering adventuresome lady. That is going to be an interesting read.
June 26th, 2015
Pretty lavender! Hope all works out with the apartment. It's not easy finding good people. So much screening to do and that's no guarantee either. Wish I had a reason to rent it for a year- how fun to have family visit me in NZ!
June 27th, 2015
Beautiful flower - I like how it's drooping.
June 29th, 2015
This makes a lovely shot, beautiful blue and focus. It's amazing that it is still flowering.
