Just round the corner from here there is a little cottage with this shadowy path going up to it. The mailbox is always stuffed full and I wonder if anyone lives down here. Intriguing!
Three good things:
1. Finished the butterfly book - I have to look on my 365 three good things to remember what I read!
2. The most embarrassing thing - a guy came visiting John and I gave him a cup of coffee with a large biscuit on a small plate! He had a bite out of it then John came in from the back of the house and sat down! He thought we were only having 1/2 biscuit as we sometimes do, picked up this man’s 1/2 biscuit and finished it! Help ! What did that poor guy think!!
3. Changed our phone from copper to fibre and now can’t dial out. Got to be good, isn’t it?
Intriguing look along the path too. Love the shadows that strong sun makes. Love the biscuit story, roared with laughter and had to share with hubby who also did.
Ha your memory is like mine! This is a very interesting looking path, I want to see what's at the other end! The hint of white house looks beautiful....a desirable place to live! Your guest must have thought you were very tight with biscuits!
Think of it as the shady land and maybe it might not be so sinister. I used to get tones of mail till I called the catalog companies and told them not to send any more. I like the shady/dappled light on the lave.
intriguing! i like the shadow patterns and the point of view. seems to me a person in period costume would be coming out from there. wouldn't that be something?
It looks delightful to me- like there's a good story waiting at the end of the lane.
1. My daughter-in-law Becky is notoriously slow about getting the mail out of their box and it's right by the front door!
2. I can honestly say that Jeff has never eaten anything I'd set out for a guest but he does have a habit of mindlessly walking off with other people's pencils or pens.
3. Did they do that on purpose so that you couldn't call and complain about the bad service?
The cottage looks inviting when seen from the road with the lovely shady walk up.
enjoy reading your 3 good things everyday
number 2 made me laugh, it was just too funny.
This place has such a sense of mystery about it! I can see why you would be intrigued by it! There is a house like that down our block, too....I saw an elderly gentleman out at the front yard once, and now it's on the market! I am waiting to see if they will have an Open House as I am dying to see the inside, and who inhabited it! That biscuit was probably too much for that guy, anywyay....he should learn to share! ;-))
@panthora I'm the same - wanting to see inside! I saw inside a house online thatI thought was wonderful on the outside and was so disappointed! Pure 1970!
Thanks for sharing. Number two made me feel at home! I try to cope with this, all and every day. Thanks for the three good things...Listened to the radio yesterday. The had a talk about live and being positive. Writing down three good things was said to make you more positive. The more you concentrate on the positive the more the brain will adapt to it. It was said that the brain rewires that way.
It certainly looks intriguing Maggiemae - had you processed this in low-key B&W, it would have looked downright creepy! Isn't it interesting that according to how our brain processes what we see, depends our attitude towards it.
I so want to walk down the drive and see what's at the end Maggismae. I love the story about the biscuit I can see that sort of thing happening here.
Just love your three things and your sense of humour Maggie.
It's like a secret garden and very intriguing - I want to walk up the path to see what it's like at the end. Love your story about John eating the man's half biscuit - made me laugh.
Wonderful play of light and shadows! I enjoyed your biscuit story ...either my husband or I could have done the same thing; neither of us is terribly observant!
I especially love the shadows in this one, and that glimpse of the mysterious little cottage through the trees. Perhaps someday you'll find out who lives there. Your biscuit episode was so funny, but I can well understand how embarrassed you must have felt. I hope the visitor got an explanation, and that he has a sense of humour!
You should have offered John's biscuit to the man!
