US Tennis
One of the great sports I like to watch - where the ball falls and how they come back after losing.
Me watching the finals - couldn’t leave!
Three Good Things:
1/ NZ’s Lydia Co won her major sport event - golf - and only 17!
2. A quandry - do you continue to attempt those things that you fail at - or just avoid them! I’m talking about knitting in this case - keep making mistakes and the result’s going to be less than desirable.
3, A very relaxing day being able to enjoy 365 at various times of the day!
Loving your over the shoulder pov - it allows a shared moment. Re your knitting ... I would chuck it in the bin and move on; if the result is not going to be pleasing to you, then time-is-a-wasting.
@maggiemae Hah, I knew you were a 'completer-finisher' and would want to persevere ... I am a butterfly ~ flit, flit, flit from one unfinished flower to the next.
I like watching tennis too, when I have spare time. Well done Lydia Co! And I'd only bother keeping up with the knitting if you can see yourself enjoying it eventually.
#2 just buy, i say! :-) i used to love watching tennis, if only to pick up how they serve or play, when i used to play it. now i'm so behind. i don't know who has replaced or surpassed pete sampras and andre agassi. but baseball and football, i know quite a lot because i hear the updates every so often from somebody whose life is just sports.
@summerfield I'm trying to make use of wool thats been left over and too nice to ignore, Vikki! I"m going to be known for the grandma who knits stuff - sleeves different lengths, patterns not matching, knots in the back!
You sit like me with your legs over the arm......the back of your hair looks very teenagery! Loving the sepia tint! If knitting is too amateurish it doesn't look good in my opinion.......my knitting was ok but the sewing up let it down. I always love looking at the patterns & full of enthusiasm but know I would never ever finish it so I don't knit. The last thing I knitted was the obligertory grandchild cardigan & that has done for both of them so no more!
A nice relaxed look to this shot, with nice tones. Re the knitting, if you enjoy it maybe just knit simple things, scarves, beanies etc, nothing too complicated or big or expensive. There are always charities that want baby things, beanies etc. my friend and I have this pact to remind ourselves of this rule after some disappointing projects.
@adayinmallacoota You are right, Belinda - all that work will not be wasted. Nowadays a home knitted garment is more special than one from the Warehouse!
I got a chuckle out of your response to Vikki! My solution to using up old yarn is use bigger needles and then it is finished faster. you can also use more than one skein at a time!
This is such a relaxing shot of you! It makes for a nice little peek into your world!
Love your posture/position in the shot and how relaxed you look! Re knitting...so interesting to read all the views. I admit I was terrible when I tried it decades ago...never continued and never looked back.
Lovely relaxed selfie - great pov! I have tried knitting many times over the years but am never pleased with the finished garment! I knit too loosely so everything is always too big and baggy! I also have to keep watching the knitting all the time. If I look up and carry on knitting I always drop stitches! I want to have a go at crocheting!
@grammyn Funnily enough, I had just decided to change the size of the needles and make it looser! It will probably look weird but I'll just tell people its a new trend!
Nice shot. Love the comments about the knitting! I also ended up with sleeves to long and body to short. My mother knitted with a machine and mother-in-law by hand, I do not have the patience and time to knit a whole jersey, 365 Much better!
@flygirl But on TV you get such good closeups of the play. I do admit the experience of being there live would be tremendous. ( being dead wouldn't count!)
Fab PoV
you look very comfy
give up the knitting and try crocheting. .lol
I say that but every once in a while I tey again to knit a scarf....and again it ends up a different width along it's length hahaha
Love the pov, light, and processing in this. I tried to teach myself to knit years ago, from a book. I got the mechanics of it all right, but I found that the stitches were either so tight I had to tug hard to get them off the needle, or so loose they kept falling off. I ended up throwing the whole wretched thing across the room, and have never attempted to knit again. I found crochet much easier.
1) Impressive!
2) Join a knitting club and get some pointers?
3) You may not be known as the Grandma who knits (I will never be known as the Grandma who knits!) but you will be known as the Grandma who takes really cool photographs!
I like this shot. I like the pov and I really like that chest of drawers!
@olivetreeann That set of drawers is an antique inherited from my older half sister who's mother had it brought out from England in the early 1900's! Its got a crack in it otherwise would be quite valuable!
I sympathize with your knitting! iactually am good at knitting and love comple patterns butlast night Iwastired, made a big mistake and had to rip out 10 rows Aaarghhhh!. Its lovely to felax like your doing

I can knit but don't because I crochet instead, which is faster and easier to tear out if you make a mistake! LOL
PS - your home looks so warm and welcoming. :)
