New Plymouth was there to discover and there was a difficult choice. I wanted to get on a bike and ride up along the coast but John frowned and intimated that he was reluctant. So I changed the plan and we went down to the harbour where he had once completed a job on the oil lines 40 years ago. I was reprimanded for standing in a window by the customer behind me who was sitting at a table. “Would you please move or sit down - you are blocking the view”
Three good things:
1. I sat down but rumbled!
2. This shot was at Pukekura Park - a wonderful area with huge and exotic trees. I pointed to a very slim and straight tree ( a pole holding a light) and asked John what variety - he replied, an “exotica litorsaurus” and we discussed this much to the amusement of a couple passing us!
3.A very friendly town - smiles and nods and a heap of “Good day’s”
4. A little girl who dropped her ice-cream and jumped up and down in a tantrum … but …her father quickly picked the icecream up, licked the gravel off the top and gave it back to her!
This looks like an illustration......quite imaginative looking...a story there I think! I would imagine you did lots of rumbling.....how rude people are sometimes you had every right to stand up! An excellent no nonsense father! I like you & Johns sense of humour!
What a great Dad taking one for the team.. lol.. New Plymouth is a lovely town and great trees and gardens are spectacular there at the moment.. Sounds like there was one grump in town though
@julzmaioro I now wish I hadn't apologised, Julia! As people say I had a right to stand by the window inside as I was a customer! Seafood chowder - nice but hardly any seafood!
