A Brass Band played as we moved away from the Tokyo Pier. They were very good and had obviously practiced. Waving and waving to our family, our son looking very sad.
This photo was taken at night of the pilot boat coming in close to take the pilot off our boat. It looked extremely hairy!
I expect this shot to look good on the black.
Three Good Things:
1. A large array of food on the lunch buffet! Little Zoe, aged 8 put a large slice of roast beef on her plate together with sushi and a chocolate cream cake!
2. We were so tired and full of food that we did not go for dinner anywhere and just ordered a small portion of beef tartare to be sent to our cabin at 9pm.
3. The chocolate squares we were given each night had a good home!
This is so effective especially against the black. Fav. So sad to leave family behind especially on Mothers Day which it is here in NZ>. Enjoy the next stage of your journey - that might compensate somewhat.
You are right, it does look good on black. I have a friend who was a Pilot Boat Driver (?), on a much smaller boat than the one you have shown. I have been told some interesting stories, the weather doesn't bother the large ships so much, but they need to put on, or more importantly get him back off again whatever the weather.
