Next stop, Skagway further up the fjord from Juneau. Lots of helicopters and of course, cruise ships. It was crowded in town and there were lots of things to see and learn about. This is one mountain shot from the ship on the way out of the fjiord which was a narrowish inlet and edged with these huge mountains.
Three good things;
1. Saw the splash of several tails of whales and some diving porpoises by the boat but it was too freezing to stay outside and get a good photo.
2. A drink called a Bushwacker which had ice-cream chocolate and a splash of vodka was so delicious in a typical American restaurant. Chose a corned beef sandwich - not had for years and so delicious!
3.The Americans all say, ‘excuse me’ when we meet in a narrow hallway. The Australians say, ‘sorry’. Others just say, ‘hi'
Love your human observations! All this ice & mountains is very exciting & must be awesome to see from your ship. Two completely different hLfs of your trip. I bet the humid smog seems a lifetime away now!
