Without cell coverage and wifi we had to depend on our maps and the GPS to find out where Barrytown was. Here hubby wanted to connect with a wildfire character into motorbike racing! I’m amazed we got out in one piece - hens, dead cars, crazy leaning huts, rubbish motorbike parts etc.
Changed our destination with the wildfires in Christchurch and headed south on the West coast. A Thai lunch from a trailer on the foreshore was a wonderful experience!
Ended up in a place called Harihari.
Three Good Things:
1. A wonderful little mountain town with one main street, one hotel and lots of phoenix palms which was a surprise.
2. Wifi was good provided you were in the hotel lounge. No cell coverage.
3. A creative hut for accommodation here which now features on 365! Little did it know! The only window was broken. John had the key - but no door!
HariHari is a cute place alright. I have a good friend who lives there when she is not out and about in their motorhome or whitebaiting. This is an interesting Room 97. I like how you have captured the sunlight through the window too. And that you found sun on the 'Wet' coast - one of my favourite places in NZ
and here i was thinking the naughty boys' suite is a urinal. hahahaha! did mr. cool finally find the door to the key? :-) or maybe it is a secret door to another dimension, you must go with him and take a photo of what it looks like - the other dimension not the urinal!
