Out looking for a good coffee, we found this small Italian cafe just full of men. There would have been about 30 of them, all gathered for a Saturday morning get together. All Italian and I was the only woman! The conversation was quite loud around us. Reminded us of the Greek, Italian and Turkish habit of men going to the morning cafe. (while the women slaved in the fields, of course)
Three good things;
1. The espresso served in such tiny cups was delicious!
2. The chef in the corner was twirling his pizza bases with two hands while talking to someone!
3. Back out to son's home in the semi country for Father's Day.
I love those kind of experiences. There is an Italian café in the towbn where I live, near the railway station and it is similarly full of men hanging out. Hope you were well received.
Times have obviously changed little in Italian ways, I suppose it's similar to our men going to the pub while the wife cooks the Sunday dinner! That doesn't happen these days, everyone goes out for the Sunday dinner!
When we lived in Cyprus, women weren't allowed in the coffee shop after 5 pm or on Saturday mornings. That time was entirely for men.
