It is Saturday here and although the sun is shining, it is freezing out there in the NE wind.
I set the camera on a fast speed and high exposure and caught the waving blossom which is looking so beautiful.
Three good things:
1. Face time with son in Japan - he’s reasonably fine and in Yokohama didn’t feel the earthquake or the cyclone! I did feel like growling at the grandchildren lying around where son John was supposed to be resting due to serious steroid side effects!
2. I’ve found that gin and ice-cream go well. It comes of not finishing the pre dinner drink and half time ice creams which were served during the rugby!
3. I’ve realised that pumpkin has a lot of good space in so many dishes! Savoury and sweet!
I am impressed, it sounds as if you know your way around your camera pretty thoroughly. The wind was blowing vigorously here a few days ago and the hibiscus bush was moving considerably. I tried using a longish exposure to capture the swirls of movement but it looked more like a bad ICM!
Hope the cold doesnt get this pretty blossom! Beautiful strong pink! You can't tell the young anything these days, they please themselves! You make ice cream too! 😳
Wonderful shot of this pretty blossom. Good to hear your son's OK, my son was overseas for 7 years (Laos and Philippines) so I know exactly what you were feeling. PS Ice cream forever!!!
Spring is in the air. It has been chilly here the last couple of days, but today is sunny and warm. The washing is blowing in the breeze and we are busy gardening.
@maggiemae Good question MM, my son and family did return to Oz a few years back so the boys could finish primary, and do secondary schooling here. But I'd reckon the odds are no better than 50/50 Leroy and Sue will stay here once the boys are off their hands. He's forever flying off to consultancies in SE Asia, mainly Laos. Fortunately, my daughter has stayed in Oz, and will continue to do so.
Love how you captured the blossoms, great sense of movement and lovely colour. Re the gin and Ice cream, a speciality in Italy is hand whipping lemon sorbet and gin. I most delightful dessert ;-)
Pretty blossoms! It's a half and half situation with your son. Half the problem is lazy kids. The other half is not telling them to get busy and help out! Still, you'd think they'd use the eyes God gave them sometimes!!
Glad you had some face time with your son in Japan.
Good to know your son is OK. Anything with ice cream has to be good!
