I have so much colour in the garden I don’t want my pictures to be boring!
This is a newly opened rhododendron underneath the brilliant blue spread of the ceanothus. Just a twiddle or two in composition.
Three Good Things:
1. Found a cough medicine that J can take and not upset his heart medication.
2. Sent a birthday gift to son in Canada hoping it will get there within 3 weeks!
3. Fish on this Friday night was monkfish - not much flavour but very tender!
This is certainly not boring. Rhododendron season here is April and I miss them so I'm having this just so I can look again and again.

@pandorasecho We are lucky having about 14 rhododendrons in our small property!

they grow wild in the redwoods, and I only have one, but its a gigantic one that was big when I moved here 23 years ago.

@louannwarren Thank you for your kind words, Lou Ann but I can't claim this composition other than the original plant life. It was a choice in "photos cape X"

I like this one, so colourful and full of fun. I made an easy 'fish pie' the other day. Chop up suitable fish into chunks, mix with lemon juice, some creme fraiche, chopped celery (I didn't have any so used frozen peas). Stick into suitable dish, top with mashed veg, cook in moderate oven till top brown (or when you think it's right). Yummo.

@golftragic Sort of like a cottage fish pie!. Those mashed veggies could include potato, carrot, onion, parsley etc! Yummo is right!
November 3rd, 2018
Gorgeous..love the colours and how you done this
November 3rd, 2018
@maggiemae Yep, I included a whole bunch of vegies and definitely yummo. I'd made a huge pot of mash the night before so I'd have ample to do the job. Give it a go, so darned easy.
November 3rd, 2018
@maggiemae Whoops, I nearly forgot. Some capers in the mash or the fish mix works very well.
November 3rd, 2018
@golftragic ah... capers work well with fish and steak! Must get some!

Curried Monkfish is excellent... and tasty!
November 3rd, 2018
@vignouse ooh - I've never thought of currying fish but can visualise this as delicious!
November 3rd, 2018
@maggiemae It is... but easy on the curry spices and heavy on the cream - preferably crème fraiche.
November 3rd, 2018
@vignouse I just had some packet butter chicken - mixed it with leftover fish and veggies and it tasted so bad I threw the lot out to the birds. Kept it too long in the larder!
