I came upon this scene entering into the lovely oamaru Public Gardens. They couldn't have positioned themselves better. Waiting for the scones ,jam and cream, delicacies to start and accompanied from the Rotunda by really nice piano music. Snapping wildly nothing happened - my battery was flat. Good thing I had my iPhone. All the food was available for a gold coin donation but the white clad as a main, volunteers were not paid as probably the musical skills. Very proud of what is achieved in this small district - its the Victorian Festival. Penny Farthing races on tomorrow!
Thankful for:
A delicious Devonshire Cream morning tea in a lovely old hotel and a view to the street.
What a lovely scene! And everybody dressed elegantly not like the rags we see today. I thought you had photographed a painting which you came across. Lovely shot with the mobile.
I would love to go to this but guess you wouldn't be able to eat much with those pulled in waists. A beautiful way to spend the afternoon and perfect timing for your photo.
Might be quite nice to live like that for a week....in the summer of course so you could drift about in your best clothes being waited on as ladies should be!
