One of My "Monkey Ball" Christmas Wreaths

A few of you requested to see my sweet gum tree ball wreaths. I decorated this one with a country/western motif and I will arrange it 15 times before I'm satisfied with it. Need a pic for now. @heidievans73 I did say my two wreaths were a little bigger than the pics of the ones you found online. This one just about covers my back door and it's solid balls - no styrofoam form - just a single wire form.
This is BEAUTIFUL!! It's huge!! Love the western theme and ornamentation! How long did it take you to make this?- Love the pic Maggie Mae!

What a cool wreath! I'm sure it took you a long time to complete it, but well worth it. You should sell these!

This is my first time seeing such a wreath. I think it's awesome. Love the earthy brown tones and unusual texture! You've made it beautifully.

That wreath couldn't be more perfect for a Western background. It's lovely . . and I can understand the work that went into it! The one thing that really sets this off is the gingham curtains on the window. Wonderful mood-setting background, Maggie! Love it.

What a beauty! You are so crafty! :-)

That is a Beautiful Wreath! Good Job

@heidievans73 Thank you, Heidi! This one took a very long time and it's heavy! There's about $45 worth of hot glue that went into it and that's what makes it heavy. I need to find a lighter glue! LOL! I made them so I can re-deocorate them for every season - even the 4th of July. They are kind of cool and different. Not many folks have them or would even attempt to make one. What about you since you now know you have them around? =)

@cindi Thank you very much, Cindi! =)

@shonnys Aww! Thank you, Shonny! What would you suggest I sell them for? This one is large and has about $45 worth of hot glue in it - took me a long time to make in my spare time last year. I have thought about making them and selling them but, not sure it would be worth the expense or the effort if folks would not be willing to pay for the materials and at least a few dollars per hour for my time to glue all the balls on the wire wreath form.

@aslessknownsu LOL! Thank you, Susan! But, ya know, your wreath is the most unusual one I've seen and I really like it! =)

@phil_howcroft Yep! Was trying to get a few Christmasy shots of each little item in the wreath but the weather is not permitting me to do that right now. Thanks for your comment, Phil! =)

very cool use of those "darn balls". We have a ton of those things in our yard....they drive me crazy because they're not "barefoot" friendly ;)
December 21st, 2011
Great job on the wreath! Love the tones in your shot.
December 21st, 2011
@veronicab I agree! They are not barefoot friendly and they have been known to stick to the bottom of my flops, too! Not lawnmower friendly either! Thank you for your comments and the view! =)

December 21st, 2011
@marlboromaam Lots of people like 'em....have you thought about using a styrofoam mold to reduce bulk and in turn glue?
December 21st, 2011
@heidievans73 If they made them big enough but they're so small at the craft supply places. I'll have to look next time I'm there. =)

@lesip Thank you, Leslie!
December 22nd, 2020
I like what I see. are they difficult to make. I read your answer to Shonnys question in 2011 and have my answer. thank you.
December 30th, 2020
@bruni They are very time consuming, Bruni. There's about 5 boxes of balls in this wreath. Layers of balls and hot glue - lots of hot glue. Although the balls are very light - the glue makes the wreaths very heavy. Find a lightweight glue if you can.
