Will you lower my tax value, please? LOL! Thought I'd give the tilt-shift thing a try. Turned my little home into a toy house! =) Course, Ol' Gray is gone now.
@melissapike Wow! Thank you, Melissa! I'm glad you like how it turned out. I love my little home, too! Fighting with all I've got to keep it. Been living here since 2002.
@keyt427 Thank you, Keyt! Best thing to do is google "Tilt-Shift Photography." I'm not so sure I could explain it very well but, it's way of giving the illusion that something is tiny, a toy or a miniature with slightly different out of focus areas.
@meisen325 LOL! Thank you, Monica! I sort of explained what it is to Keyt above. But if you google it, I'm sure that would explain it better than I can. No, my tax value won't be lowered. But with all the foreclosures in this area, it ought to be!
Great tilt shift. I have taken a couple of shots with this in mind but no time to play yet. The pictures I took doesn't even come close to the beauty of this one. Great job!
@copperheadglass Meredith, you take lovely pictures! Please don't be so hard on yourself! Thank you for your kind and lovely comments! Most appreciated!
What a beautiful place to live; even if it needs work! I love how you did the tilt shift! I haven't ever tried it, but have seen a lot of awesome shots-this being one of them! Great job!
@buggus There's a good reason why it was shot all the way at the end of the drive! LOL! Hides all the work that needs to be done! Thank you, Oleta! Always appreciate your comments!
@darsphotos Aww! Thank you, Darlene! I had to Google "Tilt-Shift" photography myself because no one who was doing it here was explaining it. Basically, it is a way of "shooting" or "processing" your photo to give the illusion of a toy or miniature subject. There have been discussions on here about it, too.
@purdey LOL! Not really, Sharon. I just google a bunch of stuff, read and give it a try. Thank you for your comments!
@mantha Thank you! I do love my home of almost 10 years. I was laid off in March of last year though and I still haven't been able to find another job. I'm in the over 55 crowd who employers are NOT hiring. If I can't find a way to earn a living, I'm afraid I will lose it. So, I'm not so very lucky at this time. It's a really stressful time.
@litljen Thank you so much, gal! Really appreciate your kind comments!
@oliviajayne Thank you, Olivia! I used the technique in Photoshop to achieve the illusion. I don't have the expensive tilt-shift lens and my cheap camera wouldn't take one any way. It is my little home of almost 10 years. Needs lots of work, thus the view from waaaayyyyy back on the drive.
@pammerritt Aww! Thank you, Pam! Really appreciate your lovely comments. My little place needs lots of work, thus the shot from the end of the drive. The tax assessor's office ought to be lowering taxes with all the foreclosures in the area and property values have plummeted to new lows. But, they'll probably find a way to raise them. They always do! Our governments are so damn greedy and corrupt now.
I usually always look to take tiltshift shots from an elevated position to simulate that effect looking down on toys - but this eye level shot is really effective and cool!
@michaelelliott Michael, it is a downhill shot - honest! Just not a big one but my driveway slopes all the way down to the house. =) Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments!
@karenann Thank you, my friend! Really appreciate your comments! It's not the property taxes. LOL! It's finding a job or a way to earn a living so that I can stay here. I've been here almost 10 years now. Very hard to let go. I had to let my horse go, I had to let my truck go... I don't want to have to let go of my home, too. Still fighting to find a way!
Very lovely shot of your house in tilt shift.

@peterdegraaff Thank you very much, Peter! It does look beautiful from a safe distance. =) Can't see all the work that needs to be done from the end of the drive.
@kerristephens Aww! Thank you, Kerri!
