Twisted illusion...

I thought it was growing twisted! LOL! It's just the way the buds are lined up. This is a common wildflower known as "Ladies Tresses." As to which variety of ladies tresses... There are seven (7) possibilities that live and grow in the midlands of South Carolina. I haven't done all my reading up on them yet.

There is a luminence here that creates a fragility in this unusual flower. Delicate stem looks like a green rope! Gorgeous!

As my grandson says when he sees something he likes, "Sweeeet"!! It does have a twisted look. Fantastic bokeh to add to the beauty and makes the flower stand out!!
