Black Vulture...

Don't laugh! This is the best bird shot I've gotten so far. Okay, laugh! This is pretty pitiful to say the least. =)

Update: I just recently learned this is a black vulture because of its gray black face. Turkey vultures have the red face.

Had to take my mother to the ER today. She fell and fractured her hip. They admitted her. Hoping she'll recover. She's all I've got left in this world.

I will not laugh - I have never had the opportunity to try mu luck at taking a shot of a bird of prey in flight except when I went to watch a show. I still get excited when I see the shots i took which I think came quite good. But then I was waiting for them to show up. You took a very good shot of this one. Prayers for your mum to be fine soon.

Oh my! I am sorry to hear about your mother's accident. I hope she recuperates quickly and without any problems.

I knew a dear sweet lady who fell and broke her hip when she was in her 80's and healed remarkably fast.
