Again with the 75-300mm lens. No need to comment. I'm not trying to take great shots yet. I'm just finding out what it will do. I'm really amazed at the detail. The swamp maple is about to bloom with those little fuzzy hot pink flowers that the Cedar Waxwings love to eat. That's a mourning dove nest up there leftover from the summer. Shot this from the deck and this tree is about 30 feet away from where I was standing!
@dkellogg Thank you, David. I have so much to learn. I tried some closeups with the 18-55mm lens, but was so unhappy with them being blurry on AF and on MF. I'll have to figure it out.
@corinnec LOL! It's more frustrating than exciting at the moment. It's very different from my little Kodak that I still love very much. Just one fixed lens allowing me to switch from landscape to macro within one click. I have to change lens with the Canon and all the settings and buttons are in different places. *sigh* I just have to get used to it.
@marlboromaam there’s a lot to focus on with a shot like this. When I play around with a shot like this, I had better results with a smaller aperture like f/11 or f/16. But then you loose any bokeh. Some shots can be frustrating, but it’s fun to figure it out.
@dkellogg For closeups I'm supposed to use a tripod. This camera has no IS like my little Kodak does. However, I'll try some closeups with the normal lens again and see if I can change the settings. Macro lens are so damn expensive, I'm also looking at the tube extensions since I'm supposed to use a tripod anyway. I thought I had good focus, but the slightest camera shake and boom - they're fuzzy.
@wh2021 Thank you!
@larrysphotos Thank you, Larry.
