Not sure if this is an egret or heron, wasn't able to see the color of it's feet to help identify it.

Super capture, Kerry. In NZ the White Heron (Kotuku) ~ Ardea modesta is also known as the Great White Egret and some believe it to be a subspecies of The Great Egret ~Ardea alba so confusion reigns the world over. New Zealanders rarely use the Egret name.
