Inspired by Sue Barnicoat's beautiful series of dandelions, and the abundance of them in my yard and the neighbor's, I decided to try my hand. I would so love to get the soft, nebulous, out of focus background she and others achieve, but this is as close as I came. I tried a number of things with my little camera, but lying in the grass, feeling as though I was getting eaten up by chiggers, I didn't note which shots resulted from what, so I have little notion how to proceed from here. When I look at this shot, the dandelion seems to stand out from the slightly dizzying background -- almost like a 3D postcard or something.
