I couldn't believe how quickly this little house was getting chewed up and dumped in the big bin they were using. I had just finished having a bit of lunch at Macdonald's and saw this when I came out. I stood there and took a whole bunch of photos. A man in the car parked next to mine asked if I knew why it was being demolished. I gave him my educated guess and he said that it had really new siding and windows. He had delivered the siding not that long ago. What a waste. If they would have removed the windows, they could have donated them to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore where they sell building materials to support their projects. Sigh.
Nice picture! That is sad though. Whenever we have a building project at home, Habitat is the first place we usually check for materials! And of course what ever we don't use we donate :) such a waste not to :(
What an interesting shot, but a sad story to go with it. I completely agree with you - recycling opportunity wasted. Once, I used to have an "office" at a coffee shop across from a huge, three-story brick building post office. I went away for a week, and came back, and the entire building and every trace of it was entirely gone. Poof! No more post office.
