From my walk around the City Park on Friday. The (IMO ugly but by now iconic) statue of Johnny Kaw, who is a modern day mythic figure, like Paul Bunyan, invented for the city's centennial in 1955. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Kaw
@alicias Thanks. Yeah, except no Babe the Blue Ox or lumberjack clothes. The made up story has Johnny Kay carving out the riverbed for the Kansas (or Kaw) river.
@kareenking That's OK, Kareen. He's not a universally known character. Though I would think you'd have seen the big honking statue in the City Park during your time at K-State.
