300 Block of Poyntz August 5th

After I took the photos in the Hy Vee parking lot, I headed home through downtown and stopped to see if I could get a good photo of a restaurant sign above. These three came out of the restaurant while I was doing that, and the man in the upper left struck a pose for me. (Do you love the strings of lights coming out of his head? LOL It was an improvement over being back lit by the streetlamp. I moved to a different vantage point to avoid that.) We chatted and they ended up trying to oblige me for both my overdue get pushed challenge from last week (action) and this week's (hands -- actually "hands that tell a story."). None of the shots are particularly good photography, and the hands don't tell a story in and of themselves, but it was fun chatting with them and practicing taking pictures of strangers. The young woman is trying to give me an action shot of her leaping forward. This is the best we got and it's more posed than action. The two men aren't making rude gestures with their hands. They're demonstrating that the tall skinny guy has an unusually long middle finger -- compare with the other guy's.
@triciaclancy A tentative start on the "hands" challenge you gave me. See upper right. I'll try to come up with better story-telling hands and better photography.

@gosia this is late and there's not much action, but the lower left is proof that I haven't entirely forgotten the challenge you gave me last week. I had hoped to find a Little League baseball game or something, but they finished that weeks ago evidently. I wouldn't want to photograph other people's kids on the playground, and was enjoying being IN the pool too much last night to want to get out and try to get a shot of high diving. If I get a better action shot, I'll be sure to tag you.

Such fun shots and so cool that they are strangers that you have just met.
