A block away from the Hyatt Regency where Frank and I were attending the North American Festival of Wales, the Peavey Plaza sits next to Orchestra Hall. I was disappointed to find the wonderful fountain system dry. Reading online just now, I see that there had been a several year struggle to prevent the demolition and redesign of that plaza space. It has now been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and will be rehabbed with a lesser degree of redesign to make it more wheelchair accessible and a more flexible space. I hope, in some future year, to visit Minneapolis again after the rehab is finished and take pictures of the fountains running again.
