The Toys on 365 are toasting marshmallows this week. I thought I'd have to go out to buy some regular marshmallows. Then I realized the miniature ones we have are just the right size for small dinosaurs. We toasted them all together on one skewer; there were 15 -- enough for each of them to have one and two more for Frank and me.
Neanderthal Man was particularly happy to be cooking outside on an open fire; it made him feel right at home. He said the few tears I caught him wiping away were nostalgia for the old days and not to worry that there was anything wrong -- quite the opposite.
The dinosaurs insisted on making a picnic of it so we laid down a colorful cloth on the back stoop and they all gathered around the skewer to claim their share of the sweet toasted treat.
I took this photo and went to put the camera away. When I came back SOMEONE had finished off the extra two that were supposed to be for Frank and me. No one owned up to it and it was impossible to tell who it was, since they all had sticky marshmallow all over their faces. (Did I ever mention the atrocious eating habits of dinosaurs? In most other ways they are quite civilized little guys, but their table manners leave much to be desired.) Oh well, I can't say I was too surprised.
@francoise@edorreandresen@tracie8266 Thanks. Working and living with dinosaurs can be trying, but also very rewarding if you don't let things get to you. I didn't mind not getting a marshmallow this time. I control the bag of them in the pantry!
