Waiting

Anne @365anne gave me this challenge " take one (or more, your choice) image that epitomises your day or week?" This is from Thursday. In the early afternoon I drove Frank to a medical appointment and waited while he got a shot for back pain. It was recommended that he have someone to do the driving to come home. The Dr. also suggested that it might be good to have someone else do the driving from Manhattan to Junction City that evening where Frank is rehearsing a play. So I went along, even though he probably could have driven himself with no problem. (I'd never forgive myself if something DID happen) I got to watch the rehearsal, which was really the preview performance before opening. The cast did a fantastic job. This was taken before they began. I played with it last night including it's very grainy quality, and ended up with something that looks sort of cross-processed to me. This production of The Laramie Project is being done reader's theatre, so in the background you may be able to see the line of music stands.
A really neat photo that has a hint of mystery. You know that there will be a play involving music in the future - but the music stands are hard to see - just as the future is.
Well done and A FAV!

@homeschoolmom Thanks!
@farmreporter Well...no music, actually. The stands were just used for their scripts. I tried to think what to call them, and ended up just calling the stands what I think they technically are. Maybe I should just scratch the word "music" since that is a bit misleading. You're absolutely right, they are sort of hard to see. I lightened the shot up a bit, but didn't want to go too far, as I kind of like the dark background, but wanted the stands to be visible. I don't know if you experience this problem, but I have a hard time perceiving exactly how light or dark my picture is because it looks very different depending on how the monitor is tilted. I would love someone to tell me what I should take as the "real" image -- so that I'd know what I'm getting if I decide to print it. Tilted backward (see from below) it's darker. Lighter if I look at it straight on and lighter yet if I'm seeing it from above. Do you have the answer, Wendy? Lisa?

I have always wondered the same thing about how my photos are seen on other people's monitors. @mcsiegle I do not have any answer for you except to say is I do my best and hope others like my work.
