D-Lighting vs Ribbet by mcsiegle

D-Lighting vs Ribbet

Lisa Poland gave me a couple of alternative get pushed challenges. The one I chose was "take a photo using a setting on your camera you haven't used or don't use much." I explored several things my camera can do, including in-camera editing. I took this photo as I sat on a bench part way down the hill as I walked home from visiting Mom. It's not great art, but was a chance to experiment a bit more with the "D-Lighting" feature that can be applied to a photo (already taken) that needs the exposure increased. It seems to be one set increment. This compares the D-Lighting with a similar adjustment I made on ribbet.com.

Original; Original with "D-Lighting" applied in camera; Original with exposure increased on ribbet.com
Neat series of shots

I like this triptych. The greens are lovely and the brown provides suitable contrast to the green leaves and bright sky.

My apologies for not getting this to you yesterday...lunch with friends and their son and DIL visiting from NZ. So..at last, a suggestion for your GP challenge. Howzabout a still life which relates to what you value most or to what you aspire? Feel free to reject this...and will rethink the cocktail.
