Mochyn and Maiale

My Pigmania pigs have always been content to call themselves 'Pig.' 'Pig' and 'Pig' -- no fancy names. And they have obviously been around for a long while (though they hadn't seen any play for a good long while also). But when Katy's pigs turned up sporting the names 'Grunt' and 'Suie' they did feel a little envious. Pigs they had previously known personally and who had also just gone by 'Pig' now had individual names.

We talked about it, and they were hesitant to go too far from "Pig" -- pigs are such timid souls in many regards. I told them that Welsh has a great word for 'Pig' -- how did they feel about 'Mochyn'? They liked that immediately -- perfect compromise and rolls off the tongue so nicely. So then we went on a hunt for another language's word for 'Pig' that would compliment 'Mochyn' and came up with 'Maiale' which is Italian for 'Pig.' We seriously considered the Hungarian 'Malac', but Italian won out in the end.

So...meet Mochyn and Maiale -- winners of the latest Pigmania match. They are ready to take on Grunt and Suie and Kathy's two pigs who will both continue to go by 'Pig' if anything at all. They play a good game and that's what counts.
@randystreat Tell your pigs there's no pressure. They can continue to call Mochyn and Maiale 'Pig' if they want to.
@grammyn Let Grunt and Suie know that their old friends have also taken the plunge and have separate names now. They were the inspiration.

Perhaps names will come, but we're all content right now to call them Pig. I like all the detail you got on your two.

@randystreat Goodness, I just realized how dirty my pigs look in this picture and took them into the kitchen for a good scrub. I scared the daylights out of myself when scrubbing the second one (I can't remember who went first) and thought I had broken his tail off with too vigorous a scrub. After I calmed down, looked at him from another angle, and compared him with his Pigmania partner, I realized that's the way the tail normally looks. I just took another portrait of them newly bathed and wish I had done that before posting this. Ah, well...Mochyn and Maiale don't care. They're pigs.

LOL! Love their new names and glad to be the inspiration for it. Perhaps we can find a reason to photograph them again since they have been bathed!

Great story you have created from that simple game 'pass the pigs'. We too have enjoyed the game but haven't played for a long while. We always laughed because a Mr Fibber was supposed to have rediscovered the game. Good fun!
