Four handmade ornaments. One I’ve owned and treasured for a very long time. Can you guess which one? The other three were gifted to me very recently and for years to come will be treasured for their artistry and the friendship that accompanied each.
So lovely to have these precious gifts on show each Christmas - Love the hand-made element of your ornaments - they mean so much - I assume the oldest being the gorgeous little Christmas tree photo holder !
@beryl You are right. The green tree with my son’s picture in it. Just styrofoam covered with green foil, but it’s precious to me. I’m guessing Dan’s contribution to its handmade nature was sitting still long enough for the teacher to snap his photo. Not a mean feat for him at that age! @jacqbb@hjbenson Thanks so much. I’m so pleased to have them to add to my tree. @grammyn@randystreat Not me—it’s Dan in the green tree next to the three new ornaments. They do all look good together, don’t they? That’s the advantage of having an eclectic collection of ornaments from all different eras and made of widely different materials, instead of a perfectly coordinated store show window tree—everything two colors in varying degrees of saturation etc. where would that styrofoam tree fit in? Or the red glass ball with “Cathy” in glitter applied with glue that little by little each year is growing less distinct? My sister has hers with “Barbie” on it and John and Pat ditto. Those are another generation back from Dan, and highly prized by each of us. But I’m preaching to the choir, aren’t I?
