Ha this is a pretty one - I remember seeing the cruder ones with big oily looking blobs bubbling lazily in the lamp , my neighbour back in the '60s had one and I detested it !
@wyomingsis@grammyn Thanks! Frank had those when he was a kid. I didn't. We do have a string that's modern plastic, not old vintage lights, but I haven't used them on the tree in a while because it is so hard to get them attached so they stay upright. This is a single light that plugs in like a night light. I love to see it bubbling away. @aikimomm Phoebe, what is the secret to keeping them from tipping over? I think one year I strung them out somewhere else-- not on the tree.
@beryl Beryl, I think I can picture what you are thinking of-- perhaps what we called a lava lamp? If so, our tastes differ; I never had one, but thought they looked pretty cool--some more so than others. This little thing that plugs into an outlet like a night light, and I imagine you would like it. I love to see it bubbling away.
