On the outside of the box that holds this and two brooches, my mother has written "I THINK they were my G-ma Montgomery's. Auntie Ann had them." Auntie Ann was my grandfather's sister, Anna Montgomery. She was an army nurse who never married, and had various pieces of jewelry-- most of it costume jewelry. After she passed away I used to love looking through the box where my mother kept what she had of it. Now this and some other pieces are mine.
