My four pigs are very curious about many things. I try to provide them with opportunities to exercise their minds. Most recently they’ve become interested in a word that several of us 365ers have decided to explore. “Krobylos” was found on the website https://phrontistery.info/ with this definiton: “tuft of hair on the top of the head.” Feeling there should be some additional information available, we went online to practice their Google search skills.
Imagine our surprise when the results, while having to do with hair, did not precisely match that brief definition. Krobylos, it seems, was an ancient Greek hairstyle. One source said that this word referred to a hairstyle worn by men, and the similar/same style for women went by a different name.
It was devilishly hard to find pictures and, quite frankly, pigs learn best when there are illustrations to go with the words. By the time we found the examples you see here the pigs’ interest was beginning to wane. Cerdo, on the far right, was practicing his “snouter” (worth ten points). In practical terms, that will come in handier than any book or screen learning come Thursday’s game. Still, I’d like my pigs to have a well rounded understanding of the world, in addition to athletic ability.
@swchappell Homework! Oh, my gosh…Thank you. I should be giving them homework, shouldn’t I? On the other hand, if they’re practicing for the games, that might be even better. 🧐 @randystreat@wakelys@jamibann@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you. Indeed, they are (or will be) very well educated!
