Gallimaufry

Here's my offering for the Friday Mad Minute Word - gallimaufry. As defined in Dawn's post:

gallimaufry: noun, plural gal·li·mau·fries. Chiefly Literary.
1. a hodgepodge; jumble; confused medley.
2. a ragout or hash.

The bulletin boards I have often used as inspiration/meditation spaces are pretty well gallimaufries. Though they seem more jumbled than they generally are. That is, there is more meaning for me that would meet the eye of another.

On top is a completed one from about three years ago -- done for a 35 month "Deepening" project that I was doing at that time with a number of others. Most people were doing more conventional meditation type of stuff. I suck at normal meditation, so I put together a series of bulletin boards instead. Well, the same physical board -- taken apart and re-done with different stuff theoretically each month. Sometimes I was behind a month. This one is for the concept/value of "self-knowledge" combined with "descendants."

On the bottom is the board (lying on the floor) that I have just started to fill. This mad minute word brought to the forefront the fact that I have had a completely empty board above our desk for way longer than I'd like. The discipline had gone out the window and I missed having a "gallimaufry" on the wall. So, in the spirit of the tag challenge, I did something I've done before -- started by choosing three random pictures from the three whole file drawers I have of assorted two-dimensional visual inspiration -- more than I can use in two lifetimes, probably, but still I continue to find more. I'll build on those three.
Very cool shot. Thanks for sharing your interesting concepts.
