Composition - Rust & Scratches #2

Playing around with a shot of rusty scratched spot on a big bin being used by the crew who are tearing apart roads on campus to lay water pipes. After I did another pattern with this shot, I thought of my get pushed challenge given to me by Liz Hammond @lizhammond (to shoot "a picture that uses the golden spiral or golden ratio in it's composition.") and decided to see if I could arrange the various exposure levels of the same shot into a spiral. It's harder than I thought. To do it right, I'd need to use decreasing sizes of squares as I went inward. I was working with a grid collage on ribbet.com and not able to fine tune in that way. The shot was taken before this challenge week, so it's a cheat.
@lizhammond The last one for now. I have a couple of other ideas, but don't know if I'll get them done. I'll tag you if I do. Thanks!

Really well done, its been lovely looking at how you have explored the subject. I wouldn't say it was a cheat, I think that's being too hard on yourself. You've made a brand new picture from an old one.

I love the tones that you have got in this & although you couldn't play with the template how you wanted I still think this is a very effective shot. The composition has a really strong sense of balance and harmony to me & I think it makes a very interesting abstract shot.
