My Mum Thinks I'm Beautiful _DSC4275

This little silvereye fledgling was on the verandah at Matthew and Mel's today. After several attempts and with Mum keeping a watchful eye on him, he eventually made it into the safety of the weeping mulberry.
Wonderful capture, he looks soooo forlorn....lovely colors Merrelyn...FAV

@happysnaps Thanks Valerie, his poor little heart was really thumping. I was so relieved when he made it to the safety of the tree.

@pusspup He wouldn't have much more than 5cm. We heard something scratching in a box and went to investigate. When we moved some cardboard he fluttered out.
October 30th, 2015
@hermann Thanks Sally. It took him about 10 minutes to make it to the tree. He fluttered a short distance, had a rest, called Mum and then did it all again several times.

@gilbertwood @thresheg Thank you. It was a treat to see him so close.
October 30th, 2015
@onewing I think you're right. He probably made it to the box and may have slipped on the cardboard. I don't know if he would have been able to get out of the box if we hadn't gone to investigate the scratching noise we heard coming from it.

@gijsje Thanks Bep, there are a lot of silvereyes at our son's place, but they are so quick and they usually stay hidden amongst the leaves.
