Weekend with my whole family in the French region of Switzerland.
First we visited the famous underground mills in Le Locle, and then we made boat tour and a hike ending at the Doubs River fall.
This is the little Doubs river, that a little further up was dammed by a landslide 14’000 years ago. Since then the waters have partially eroded their way through the debris and boulders. The banks of Lac des Brenets are at first flat, but towards the end of the lake they turn into steep banks of white limestone rocks, up to 80 meters high.
Just behind where I stand to take this picture (no rails at this place), the 27 meter high and impressive fall of the Doubs River drops in bubbling foam on the rocks. http://365project.org/mona65/2015-plan-b-alb/2015-10-17 my brother-in-law captured me, taking this long exposure.
