hazelnut, peanut, pecan, walnut, almond
Interesting for me: A nut in cuisine is a much less restrictive category than a nut in botany, as the term is applied to many seeds that are not botanically true nuts. Any large, oily kernels found within a shell and used in food are commonly called nuts.
Hazelnut – yes, this is a true nut
This seeds that do not meet the botanical definition but are nuts in the culinary sense:
Peanut - is a seed and from a legume type fruit (Fabaceae).
Pecan - is the seed of a drupe fruit
Walnut - is the seed of a drupe fruit
Almond – is the seed of a drupe fruit
Doghnut - ??? I do "nut" know ??? ;-)
Nicely done. I like the composition and the lighting. There is an old commercial for a candy bar. The opening line is "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't........"
Ha ha ha, you "nut". My fav is the hazelnut, especially when it's coated with chocolate, but the pecan comes in second when it is eaten with toffee and chocolate too (as a turtle). Ok, I like chocolate.
And I do like your creative lesson on nuts verse seeds. :)
