I went with uncle Solomon to the park today. He had a stroke just before the Corona virus hit Norway early 2020. He have been under treatment and self isolating ever since. He is scared of the virus since he is very vulnerable. He is from Uganda and came to Norway 30 years ago. He have been very helpful to my wife that came from Uganda in 2017.
I am the only one that have been allowed to visit him, since he consider me as close family. He was sitting alone in his flat in Oslo, and I am for the time being alone in Drammen. I took the 40 minutes drive to see him today. He cooked some nice Ugandan food for me. After the meal we went for a walk to a nearby park and sat down on a bench. A man came walking and sat down next to him. We had a chat, and told us he had lived in Cameroon for 20 years, and worked as a nurse there in the period 1948 to 1967. He spoke some phrases in the local language to us. He also told us that he loved to live in Africa. I was shocked when he told us us age. He's 101 years old, living in a nursing home, and take long walks every day. His mind was as sharp as a young man. It was a pleasure and honour to meet John.
