It was only 2 days ago when I took a picture of this sleepy little hatchling in her nest. I had gone outside today to learn a little more about the inner workings of my camera and the macro setting when I realized that the Mama bird was making quite a fuss. Lo and behold this little one was perching at the hole. With some gentle coaxing and camera extended as far as I could without scaring the little thing, I held my breath and clicked away. This picture is not proof that I can take a close-up with my camera. It's proof that The 365 Project really is a place where we can learn from each other. Up until this point, I didn't think my camera could do this type of shot, but it was the expertise and advice of one of my followers that got me to take a second look at the camera (and to re-read the instruction book) and "Voila!!", a close-up that's not blurry!! Thanks RoeJan- without you this shot never would have been possible!!
@weebug Thanks Marti- I am definitely challenged when it comes to learning the ins and outs of a digital camera. I'm so used to my old 35mm SLR. Slowly but surely I'm learning how I can recreate what I used to do with that one, on this little point and shoot. Someday I will have to upgrade but for now, this works. Thanks for the comment!
Oh yes, this project has been so much fun, and it has served us well in getting us to move outside our typical approach to photography. This one is good Ann.
Oh, Ann, I'm so glad this worked for you. What a precious capture of the little bird! I, too, have learned much from people on this site and I'm absolutely thrilled that I could pass on a little help, also.
@digitalrn@roejan Thanks Rick and Roe Jan- I'm so grateful to have met both of you through 365! Your photos are very inspiring and I appreciate your comments and encourgement!
@mrssmith@sarah19 Thank you Mrs. Smith! It also helps to learn what the little symbols stand for (which was my situation!). Sarah- she'll probably be hanging out with mom and dad at my birdfeeder! Thank you both for your comments and compliments!
@cdford@kelleybelly@annaruth Cindy- yes, I am constantly amazed by the world God created. Thank you Elias! Thanks Anna- I checked out some of your posts on the world race. I know the Lord has something in store for you after an experience like that. Just a thought and not so much advice- don't go about the process as the world does, let God show you His way instead. That's what comes through to me as I pray for the next step in your journey. Thank you all for the comments. I really appreciate them!!
Thanks! That means a lot to me. I have actually been stuck in this place of "what's next?" since I have been back home. I haven't been able to find a job or go back to school. I know God has something great for me but I need a little reminding every once in a while.
