Our church had its annual "Hanging of the Greens" today. I assisted with the Crismons, ornaments which are Christian symbols. These beautiful ornaments were made by some of the women in our church a long long time ago, but they still sparkle and shine just like silver and gold.
We have such a tree in our sanctuary. Since I usually attend the less formal early service in the Fellowship Hall, I have not yet seen our Chrismon tree. Next Sunday we have a combined service at 11 in the sanctuary to see the Sunday School Pageant, and I look forward to seeing this sign of the season. Your composition is lovely and festive.
Very nice shot of a nicely decorated tree. It looks like a lot of work went into the decorations as well as decorating the tree itself. Well captured, Ann!
beautiful! the old ornaments can compete with the nouveau ones, as far as i'm concerned, especially it they're handmade, you know there is love somewhere in the seams.
@summerfield Thanks Vikki- these are pretty special to the folks who've been in our church for a long while. Some were made by ladies who have passed on, so they're not only symbolic, but a piece of the church's history too.
Thank you Kerri, Lyn, Sally, Maggie, Dixie, Alia, Phil and Nicole!
