On my way to discovering a way to process this shot with the "little world technique" as suggested by Andy (@automaticslim), I landed on this. Still looking for a way to turn these blinds into an orb (with on-line processing tools), but in the meantime, I liked the different ways the good ol' Hypnotic effect in Ribbet effected the original shot.
@lyno Thanks Lyn- It looks like tv test patterns on steroids to me! @dakotaburns Thanks Donald! Kind of crazy I think. @vposey Thanks Vickie! @salza Thanks Sally- very is putting it mildly! @humphreyhippo Thanks Humphrey! It's kind of crazy, kind of fun, but I like the way you see it! @jackie8 Thank you Jackie- this effect ALWAYS makes me laugh. It's so crazy- and what it does to pictures sometimes is just bizarre. @daisy Thank you Kathryn!
@maggiemae Oooh- yes very retro! Thanks Maggie! @deniseinindy Thanks Denise! It's nothing like what I was trying to do, but it did come out to be very interesting! @bkbinthecity Thnaks Brian! @sangwann Thanks Dione! It's different variations on the same processing effect. Some experiment! @rachelmackenzie Thank you Rachel! Interestingly the original is not a b/w but very monochromatic. The effect just makes it look like it really was a b/w.
Nice panorama! I want to learn the little planet thing too! Jus too little time. I had meant to take my panorama shot in Red Rock Canyon park n Vegas but it was so cloudy out and so cold and windy. I just forgot. I cannot wait to see your planet...
@anazad511 Thanks Ana! Today's version (about to be posted) could be called, "And now for something completely different!" Much more sedate, but still nothing like the original. @geertje Thanks Geertje! @la_photographic Thank you Laura! @granny7 Thanks Linda! @automaticslim Thanks Andy! I am still trying to figure out how to make it circular! @espyetta Thanks MaryBeth- it's actually not a panorama though. It's the original cropped to a square size. I then played around with it in the hypnotic effect in Ribbet, hoping to get that circular effect but couldn't get the offset correct, so I ended up saving the different versions and then stringing them together in a collage with no spacing between the separate shots. I don't know if I'll be able to pull the planet off. There is a step in the on-line instruction that I can't do in the on-line processing sites. So I am trying to figure out a variation, but so far not coming close! @tara11 Thanks Tara!
Thanks everyone- this challenge within a challenge certainly has me thinking! I have a completely different shot to post tonight but I'm going to post another attempt tomorrow. We'll see if my next idea fares any better!
@nadaa Thank you Nada! It has been interesting to me to because I hadn't really any idea what direction this shot would take when I first posted it! @summerfield Thank you Vikki! All that is really the process of trying to achieve the "little world" look without having the right processing tools. Andy has suggested I try the free Gimp software. I may but we need more memory before I can download it. @cimes1 Thank you Carole!
Thank you Laraine!
Thank you Kerri!
look! This is a cool effect!
